This page is an opportunity to share some of the many Dance and Theatre Arts successes that individual GSS students achieve other than with their exams and festival work. Our 'GSS News' page records some of the school's successes and our 'Graduate Students' page is a great opportunity to see the achievements of students as they gratduate to full time vocational training or professional performances.
Pupils had a great time performing in the SALOS production of 'Oklahoma!' at the Wyvern Theatre.
Kieran Jefferies played the principal role of Will Parker and wowed audiences with his dancing in the big show numbers! Kieran was joined on stage by Matilda Blake, Josie Blake, Amelia Corcoran, Megan Dalton, Kyle Iles, Lily Bell and Evangelina Brannan who were part of the children's ensemble.
'Oklahoma!' was directed for SALOS by our very own drama teacher, Russell Langdown, and was choreographed by Miss Gemma.
Lots of GSS students took part in summer schools at vocational schools around the country. We were delighted that a number of students were awarded scholarships for future training.
Musical Theatre at Tring Park - Rhiannon Mackay & Molly Lovegrove. Rhiannon was awarded 1 of only 2 Scholarships to attend next year.
Bird Summer School - Ruby Roche, Kieran Jefferies, Scarlet Roche, Jess Dunn & Winnie Diggens. Winnie was awarded 1 of 3 Scholarships to attend next year. Ruby & Kieran were awarded Commendations for their work.

Urdang - ‘Golden Cards’. There were only 2 awarded to 16 year olds, Scarlet Roche received one of them. The Golden Card means that Scarlet will head straight to the second round of auditions in 2019 for the full time college.
Ella Jones, Tilly Robison, Ruby Roche, Jess Dunn & Scarlet Roche were pleased to be asked to perform in the Bournemouth Music Festival Gala following their success at the Dance festival in May! Well done girls - great to be invited to perform.
Congratulations to all our Musical Theatre students who competed in the ‘Royal Wootton Bassett Arts Festival’. Our INTER/SNR class won, with our Juniors gaining second place! Even Louie enjoyed watching his first music festival!
We are so proud that Frankie Bates & Belle Tarrant have successfully auditioned for ‘Tring Park Classical Academy’. Frankie & Belle starts their Associate classes with the prestigious school in September 2018 alongside their training at GSS. Congratulations on this fantastic achievementgirls - we are so proud of you!
We are so proud that GSS student, Maria Adamik- Braguim, has successfully auditioned for ‘ The Royal Ballet Junior Associate Programme.’ Maria will attend classes with the Royal Ballet fortnightly starting in September alongside her training at GSS. We are so proud of you Maria on this fantastic achievement!
What a wonderful day at the Finals of the ISTD Janet Cram Awards!
Congratulations to Scarlet Roche and Winnie Diggens who danced beautifully in the Premier and Senior sections. Winnie received a commendation and Scarlet was awarded one of three awards. Scarlet’s award was for the way she danced and performed in the class and her solo, and for "sharing her love of dance" with the audience and the adjudicators! Congratulations girls.
We were so excited that Rhiannon Mackay successfully auditioned and performed in ‘A Little Princess’ at London's Royal Festival Hall. This was the UK premiere of the musical is directed by Arlene Phillips OBE.

What a fantastic day at the ‘ISTD Tap Challenge’. Congratulations to Amelie, Ruby, Winnie, Jess & Kieran, who were all amazing.
Congratulations to Winnie and Jess who were in the Top 10 out of 60 in the SNR section and through to the finals, and also to Kieran who was in the Top 10 out of 60 and through to the finals in the Premier section. Kieran then went on to be awarded Runner Up in the Premier section!
We are so pleased that GSS student, Matilda Blake, made her 'West End' Debut in 'The Ferryman'! A 5-star Award-winning play directed by Sam Mendes.
Tildy played the role of 'Honor Carney,' the youngest daughter of the Irish 'Carney' farmhouse family.
The Ferryman premiered at the Royal Court Theatre in 2017 and was the fastest selling show in the theatre's history. Tildy performed at the Gielgud Theatre and her first performance was on her 9th Birthday! Tildy performed in the show until April 2018.

Congratulations to Ella Jones, who has successfully auditioned for 'Tring Park School for the Performing Arts'. Ella has not only been offered a full time place on the Dance Course but also on the Theatre Arts Course as well. This fantastic news follows her recent success of also being offered a full time place at 'Sylvia Young's Theatre School'. 3 offers at 11 years old is fantastic..
We were delighted that Matilda Robison was invited to dance at the prestigious ISTD Bursary Awards. Following her win at the Star Tap Awards last year, Tilly was one of only two dancers to represent the ISTD Tap faculty.
